I am a patient tutor with over 10 years of experience tutoring English, French, Study Skills and US History. Moreover, most of my students finish their courses with at least one letter higher grade. I treat each student individually and adapt my style to their needs and how they learn. You will find that I spend a great amount of time (at no charge) in preparation for each tutoring session. I am available for questions by telephone, text and email.
AMERICAN HISTORY:
I graduated from the College of William and Mary in Virginia -- the 2nd oldest college in America, where Thomas Jefferson and several other US Presidents were educated. I have a passion for American History which I enjoy helping students master. When I work with students, I empathize with their struggle to memorize people, terms, dates. I try to structure each tutoring session in such a way that the student can learn the material at his or her own pace and feel free to ask questions along the way.
FRENCH:
Having studied and worked in France, I have a feel for the way natives communicate as well as an appreciation for the difficulties one faces in learning a foreign language. Why do I tutor? I prefer working one-on-one because this method allows the student time to have his/her specific questions and/or difficulties addressed. I have also worked with students who would like to improve their language skills over the summer in order to make the following academic year more enjoyable. In addition to working with students in school, I have tutored adults who would like to freshen up their "high school French" before traveling to France.
