Phonics

With 32 years of teaching phonics, voice and diction, speech, and related language arts courses, my skill-set in tutoring phonics is pedagogically unique, tested, and yields quick and measurable results. My comprehensive background in communication studies enables me to offer learners the most comprehensive, state-of-the-art one-on-one tutorial.

Public Speaking

32 Years of teaching both beginning and advanced public speaking, being the recipient of several awards as an individual events coach and public speaking teacher, and author of four textbooks and five instructional videos are parts of a very short list of my public speaking credentials. All credentials, including evaluations, and a plethora of other resources will be happily made available,if required. Thank You

Study Skills

My doctorate in education (1983) included a slate of educational psychology courses, several of which focused on study skills. I'm a full professor, having taught communication, English, phonics, writing, and much more for the past 37 years. Moreover, between 1990-1997 I designed and taught study skills for entering college freshman, including pedagogical methods in comprehension, synthesis, application, and knowledge. I designed competency based-learning for most of my courses and have won several awards for them. I am exceptional at facilitating, recommending, and teaching a plethora of skill-sets in study skills and related areas.

Approved Subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet certified in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
