Hello and welcome! You've come to the right place for Criminal Justice, law enforcement, and security tutoring. I graduated from Sam Houston State University, one of the top CJ universities in the nation, with a Master of Science in Criminal Justice, as a member of Alpha Phi Sigma, national Criminal Justice Honor Society, and all my coursework is Ph.D.-level. I also hold a Master of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies (Occupational Education) from Texas State University, and graduated cum laude from St. Edward's University, majoring in Criminal Justice. I am a licensed police instructor (firearms and classroom), hold a Level III Combined Instructor license (classroom and firearms), through the Texas Commission on Private Security. I am a retired Military Police Brigade Operations and Training NCO/Instructor with the Texas State Guard, and previously served in Air Force Security Police as a Law Enforcement Specialist.

I come from a philosophy of the Courtesy/Ethics/Survival pyramid of criminal justice, law enforcement, and security education, which I developed in 1998. I instill this philosophy in my teaching methodology whenever possible. It is my goal to make you a great all-around practitioner in the field, and prepare you to further your education. I will do so identifying, evaluating, and subsequently meeting your individual needs. I look forward to meeting you and assisting you in overcoming your educational challenges in Criminal Justice, law enforcement, and security.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Criminal Justice

I have a Master of Science in Criminal Justice. Criminal Justice is a field of study and/or major, not a subject. It is comprised of multiple courses, including Criminology, Introduction to Criminal Justice, Crime in America, Court Systems and Practices, Juvenile Justice Systems, Police Systems and Practices, Fundamentals of Criminal Law, Criminal Investigation, and Report Writing. As an adjunct and full-time college Criminal Justice instructor, security academy manager, and police academy instructor, I have successfully taught all of these courses, and more.
