I have an undergraduate degree in Journalism/English and have completed basic education courses in reading.

Elementary (K-6th)

I have over 20 years of teaching experience, primarily in the math and problem solving subjects. These subjects require a lot of reading and grammar skills in addition to basic math skills. I have completed basic education courses at the undergraduate level while completing my bachelor's degree in math. I have also completed my master's degree in educational administration, with a minor focus on testing and evaluations.

Study Skills

As a college instructor, I emphasize the importance of study skills from day one of each semester. Students do not always understand that good grades do not come naturally for all students, but are the result of time management, organization, and hard work. I worked with our vice-president of student affairs to create a study skills course on our campus, which became a requirement for incoming freshman with low entrance scores as well as all students that failed a developmental course.

Public Speaking

As a college graduate with credit in education courses, I have taken freshman level public speaking courses and have given numerous presentations for my education classes. As a college instructor with over 20 years of classroom experience, every day is a fresh presentation of new and old subjects to a ever changing audience.
