Hello, my name is Jeremy and I like teaching. Right now I'm employed at a learning center but wish to gain experience in personal tutoring. I'm new to tutoring but I am willing to work hard and I honestly enjoy teaching. I graduated from a private Christian preparatory academy, where I finished as salutatorian. There I was involved in the drama department from freshman year to senior year. I've acted in a number of plays and played flute and tuba in the school band. I also wrote a song that my school's band performed during my time there.
The subject I am most confident in is English. I'm a college student working toward an associate in the arts, and I hope to move on from there to finish a bachelor's in English. My high school career required a heavy load of writing from the English classes I attended during my sophomore, junior, and senior year, and I consider myself a natural when it comes to grammar and general English.
I'm of the opinion that some teachers don't understand the meaning of teaching, but rather choose to instruct and assign busywork. It is my goal to actually teach students, to guide them to gain an understanding through what I understand, and there is possibly no better environment for that than a one-on-one classroom.
