Mr. B's Science and Computer Technology Tutoring

I am a TEA certified bilingual teacher and have taught elementary 3rd through 5th grades for 11 years. I like teaching very much math and science. I have also taught Language Arts and reading. During the last years I have developed computer tutoring aids for children who have problems learning and understanding the basics of arithmetic: adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing. These two latter areas are so critical in the understanding of the whole concept of math for high school that I have always wanted my students to be as proficient as they can be with their multiplication skills. I can provide these tutoring aids for those students who would like to practice their skills on a home computer. They have been developed in such a way that students and parents need not to worry about acquiring additional software. The basic software that I use is Open Office which can be downloaded for free from the internet.

I also have a thorough understanding of MS Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. I can teach you how to make great PowerPoint presentations in just a few minutes. Out of these 3 programs, the one that gives the most headaches to students and users in general is Excel. During years of using and studying this program I have acquired a deep understanding of it and can teach you its use in depth and complexity. Word is a very powerful program that allows users to create just about any kind of document and be linked or supplemented by PowerPoint or Excel.

Algebra 1

Students will be tested to check their understanding of prealgebra knowledge, such as place value, number theory, arithmetic concepts, geometric concepts, and algebraic thinking. Once the evaluation is made I will determine which concepts have to be reviewed and reinforced, and then build from there the algebraic concepts studied in school. Algebra requires students to be competent in all basic concepts of arithmetic: addition, subtraction, multiplication and, specially, division.

Geometry

¡Bienvenidos a mi clase de Español! I became a certified bilingual teacher for the state of Texas back in 2001. I taught all the subjects in 3rd grade to bilingual students who's 1st language was Spanish. I also taught Spanish to Dual-Language students who's first language was English.
