I'm a graduate of UNT with a major in Music Theory and a minor in applied viola. I've tutored middle school students on the viola previously. For those that like theory, I'm a big fan of sight singing and ear training as a method of learning the fundamentals of interval sound distinction and contrast. Unfortunately the quality of my voice is not good; I'm not a singer. Also score reading and analysis can be a great source of learning differing theories about composition through musical history.
I also have a fascination for geometry as a way to marshal ideas, logic and concepts to prove problems.
I am patient and can adapt to a variety of learning styles. I like to walk through problems slowly and systematically and then reinforce the fundamental concepts that, in turn, the student can apply and reapply to similar problems.
I come equipped, at your service, with two Bachelor's Degrees: one in music and one in business...working towards a Master of Liberal Studies.
