First of all, I write professionally, with books, articles, test exams, and many other types of writing to my credit. Secondly, I teach writing and English at the college level. Finally, I tutor online for an international academic services firm.
For these reasons, I am able to offer more than the average tutoring session.
1. I provide real-world techniques to quickly improve one's writing. I use these techniques professionally, and I am happy to share them with my students.
2. I draw upon my many years of work as a college English composition instructor to offer practical, steps-based instruction. I show, as well as tell, what one must do to significantly improve one's writing. In short, I consider myself a writing "coach," who "trains" students to excel, to achieve their "personal best" in any writing course. Many of my students come to my classes afraid of writing, disheartened by prior harsh criticism of their work; they leave appreciating their talents and eager to expand them. I believe this to be unequivocally true: Anyone can write better with the proper motivation and instruction.
3. As an online tutor, I have reviewed thousands of student essays in all disciplines. As a result, I can quickly assess areas in need of improvement and implement time-honored techniques to do so.
I also realize that time and money are tight these days, and that students and their parents seek the most benefit for each dollar spent on tutoring. Because I am so experienced and efficient, I pride myself in streamlining and fast-tracking a student's progress.
