Hello, I'm Jamie! I am a 23 year old male with a bachelor of arts degree from Hendrix College in Religious Studies and International Relations. I am married to my beautiful wife Jessica and together we are raising our amazing son.
In college I worked as an academic peer mentor for my school's incoming students from China. It was during this experience that I first developed my teaching skills, and developed a love for offering advice and knowledge to my foreign friends. Furthermore, I acquired a new level of respect for all foreigners who come to America and struggle to adjust. This is why I went on to become a teacher of English for foreigners.
I am certified to teach English as a foreign language, and am in the process of getting certified to teach Business English. I worked for a teaching agency in Haerbin, China for 6 months. My teaching experience in China was primarily with college students and business professionals, but I am also very good with children. I taught English for 8hrs a week at a pre-school and a private kindergarten, to children from ages 2 - 6. Also, my son is only 2 years old so I understand the patience and nurturing that is required to work with children.
Lastly, I have been playing acoustic guitar for 7 years, and teach beginner level lessons.
