Ballroom Dancing
I filmed and wrote down every dance lesson for my son and his partner for 11 years- attended 30 competitions a year, learned all the terms and positions - and took judging training and certification. I have learned the syllabus for bronze/silver/gold and can insure proper technique for either social dancing or competition -
I enjoy all types of dancing and find that it is both healthy and fun. I encourage everyone to try dancing, if not ballroom, then swing, country or hip hop. Take something you love and even if you don't plan on competing, do it for fun and a great weight loss method.
Business
As a business planning manager for Texas Instruments for thirty-one years and then as a small business owner for six years, I feel that I can provide excellent support on business tutoring and teaching. From customer service tips and hints to how to balance a spreadsheet, there is not much I have not done in the business world, both corporate and family owned.
I have gone from manual data entry to computers, I have trained and supported training on SAP business systems, and Microsoft tools that assist on every side. I know I can provide insight, training, and good common sense support for any question.
Elementary (K-6th)
Training adults for SAP, TI planning systems and other business tools has given me patience and helped me develop good skills for dealing with K-6th and the subjects they work with. In the retail world, teaching employees to deal with customers as well as count money, balance registers and do simply math for inventory purposes will also come in handy.
K-6th I chose so that I can help to provide a good foundation for kids and help them to grow, be able to translate things to real world actions, and make support their talents so that they can see their progress for themselves.
ESL/ESOL
I have worked with a variety of cultures in training English language, computer training, and training on company specific documents and programs.
I have worked with Singapore, Phillipines, Germany, Italy and Japan on training of company English language and specific training modules.
Thank You

General Computer
Computers are the way of the world, and while I grew up without them when I was young, most kids today can't imagine a world without them. I have been exposed to computers for work, play and personal life. I know that with all that computers do today, one thing that people have to understand is moderation. Learning to use the computer and learning how to be away from it as well.
I know that in the business world, I always used keystrokes for all that I did, some people used shortcuts, but if the computer was down, or they were on a different computer than their own, they didn't know how to get to screens. So it is important to learn all about the computer and screens you need to work with.
Microsoft Excel
I have worked with many versions of Microsoft Excel and have been training on it for many years. If you are looking to expand your knowledge, or just a beginner I can help you.
Microsoft Word
I have used many versions of Microsoft Word and trained people on how to use, tricks, and getting comfortable using.
From a beginner to an avid user I can teach you the working knowledge of Microsoft Word.
Public Speaking
Working in the corporate world for thirty-one years I prepared and did many presentations to my peers as well as to upper management. Learning to overcome fear of speaking in public was difficult but once I did it was never a problem talking to others anywhere in any environment.
My experience in public speaking helped me to groom my son for oratory speaking during his junior high and high school career, and he went on to college as well and gave a speech for his ring ceremony during his last year in college. Public speaking helps you to feel comfortable with talking to anyone - and allows you to work a room with ease.
Reading
Reading has always been a passion for me. I have been reading since I was very small and continue to read and grow everyday. Reading is an adventure and teaching that is what brings the excitement to the eyes of a new reader. Open the door to your next adventure.
Social Studies
I was surprised by the fact I didn't pass the American History, World History, Geography sections of these exams. Even though I only missed a small amount of questions, which I thought was good since it has been 40 years since I studied these, I didn't meet the minimum score. However Social Studies is something I feel that I can teach well.
My knowledge on Social Studies is quite broad and I have been tutoring in Geography and World History for several years. I believe that I can do a good job in this subject area.
Study Skills
Learning good study skills helps to develop good multi-tasking skills and helps to prepare students for more than school, but work and life in general. I was always very disciplined in my studies, but never realized until I was in the workforce how much that skill paid off.
Good study skills means you know now to manage your time, helps you to learn how to multi-task and get jobs done. It teaches you a discipline that will help you in everything from learning to be on time with projects as well as arriving at work or school on time. The basics needed for good study skills will assist you in many aspects of your life.
Writing
I have been writing for most of my life. I was always adept at writing when I was young and then did technical writing for my job. I took to freelance creative writing many years ago and have worked in that capacity for many clients and websites.
I develop articles - blogs - website material for many clients in my writing and try to insure unique and creative content for each and everyone of them. I write on all topics and use three basic rules: Good intro - great content - slam dunk closing.
