Hello Everybody!

My name is Maria, and I may be the ideal tutor for you!

I am a college graduate from Bridgewater State College, with a bachelor's in Social Work. During my undergraduate career, I tutored students in sociology and English and have had experience working with a diverse population. Coming from a multicultural background, I was in an ESL program when I was ten, as I had just moved to the United States. Since I became fluent in English, I have been tutoring friends and family who continue to need help with ESL and would love to tutor you as well if needed!

I am proficient in Greek, and moderately proficient in Spanish. I have a "hands-on" approach to tutoring, and prefer to interact with the student through out the session in order to help him or her understand the subject.

Reading

Assistance in reading depends on what level your child is on at this moment. I am a patient, and interactive tutor and can help your child progress in reading through stories, games, and homework assignments.

Spanish

I'm able to assist with homework help, speaking, reading, and writing in Spanish. Study skills will be included in the tutoring session. Frequency of sessions and intensity will be determined by the students' skill level.

ESL/ESOL

English as a Second Language is hard, but not impossible. Having been through ESL classes myself, I understand where the student is coming from. I prefer an interactive and patient approach to lessons, and helping you or your child learn this new language. Sessions will include a variety of aides, from reading books, to studying writing, working with vocabulary, to watching movies and helping to understand what the subject is.

Greek

help in the Greek language. I am a native speaker in Greek.

Photography

I can teach basic photography skills in manual and digital. I am an amateur photographer, and one of my photos has been published in the Boston Globe.
