I grew up in Seoul, Korea until I moved to the US when I was 12. In effort to not lose my edge in speaking Korean, I was strictly prohibited from speaking English and allowed to speak Korean only at home. Throughout my schooling, I became fluent in English, while interacting with family at home, I stayed fluent in Korean. I went through the experience of learning a second language and tried hard to stay fluent in my native language. From my experience, I can relate to a lot of people whether they're trying to learn Korean as a new language or if they're Koreans born in the US trying to keep their heritage. I have a strong passion for teaching and currently volunteer as Youth Group teacher in Korean Martyrs Catholic Church in Hurst, TX. I enjoy interacting with kids, especially with those who are willing to learn.
