I graduated Magna Cum Laude with a bachelor's degree in English Language Arts in May 2012 from the University of North Texas and have also obtained teaching certifications through the state. I completed my student teaching at a local high school where I taught and developed the curriculum for an 11th grade AP English Literature class. Previous to this I worked with 6-12th graders as an AVID tutor at various schools throughout my district.
Teaching has always been a major part of my life. From a young age I have tutored friends and family members in a variety of subjects at many different grade levels. Although I have consistently helped others throughout the learning process, I too have been on the other side of the tutoring spectrum. I have been very blessed in having influential people in my life that have helped me throughout my own educational experiences. Because of this, I realize the impact and value one-on-one teaching can have in education. Sometimes it takes an outsider's perspective and patience to help information really sink in, and this is what I am now privileged to offer others.
As a certified 8-12th grade English teacher and the wife of a Fort Worth police officer, I realize the effects and lasting impacts teachers and education have on a child. My mission is to offer quality tutoring services at a competitive rate. All children deserve the right to learn, and it is my goal to help them do so by any means necessary. Through patience, perseverance, and dedication, it is my goal to help every child realize and reach their full potential.
