Mathematics - Calculus, Precalculus, Algebra, or Geometry
Test Prep - SAT math, ACT math, or GRE math?
I have a B.S. in Mathematics and taught at the high school level for 4 years. As an undergraduate student, I also tutored at UNT's math lab, where I found out that I had a knack for being able to come up with examples and explanations on the fly that would help clarify difficult concepts for students. After teaching those 4 years, I decided to return to school for a Masters of Engineering for a career change. I am currently a structural engineer working on various projects ranging from bridge design and inspection to heavy civil structural design and electrical transmission tower analysis. Engineering gives me a way to apply my skills in new and challenging ways, but I realized after working as a design professional that I missed the pure mathematics side of things!
I love tutoring because I get to see students' "Ah-Ha!" moments so much more frequently than as a teacher! It has also been very fulfilling to help struggling students turn their grades around and achieve success. Even more important to me is being able to give students that "Wow, I can do it!" feeling. If my availability matches yours, I'd love to help!

Personal:
As the father of a 2 and a half year old toddler, my hobbies are on hiatus at the moment, but they used to include camping, swing dancing, and gardening. I also LOVE playing board games (Settlers of Catan!) and just love to laugh in general. Aside from that, I'm a husband to a beautiful wife (of 7.5 years) and active in my church.
