I am a native Spanish speaker, educated in Cuba and the US. I hold a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, and a master's degree in Health Science. I worked as a teacher for Crowley ISD teaching fifth and sixth grade bilingual, as well as a pyramid teacher for Fort Worth ISD, teaching in elementary school, middle school and high school.
I am a certified Spanish teacher by the state of Texas; I have been teaching Spanish and tutoring students from basic level to advanced. My tutoring methods are personalized to the needs of the student, and I am known for adapting my instruction to the specific learning styles of my students. My lessons are relevant, engaging, and built upon the concepts already mastered, to reduce anxiety and maximize the learning experience.
Students consistently rate my teaching as effective and organized, and they see me as knowledgeable, approachable, and willing to help. It is my hope that we can enter a successful learning adventure together. I employ effective classroom management in order to maintain a learning environment appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students.
I have been teaching and tutoring Spanish as a foreign language for 12 years to students of all ages, including adults who want to enrich their lives, or advance their careers.
