As a recent graduate, I understand the strain of school on the student, as well as their family. Whether it is K-12 or a college level course, just getting the coursework completed is stressful, but it is doubly so if the student has trouble comprehending the material. Most often, the easiest route is hearing a description or method from someone other than the teacher.
Simply put: if you don't understand what the teacher said, it doesn't matter how many times they repeat it, you still won't understand it, but going over the material with a new voice and a different perspective can mean everything!
While I was in college, I knew Math was not my strong suit, therefore I looked for tutors early in my courses so I would not fear falling behind. Thanks to these individuals working one on one with me, I was able to pass my Math courses with minimal stress due to their time and one on one explanations! This does not mean Math all of a sudden became easy to me, but I was no longer afraid.
I hope to pass on this same peace of mind to other students in the areas in which I am most comfortable and knowledgeable.
Cultural Anthropology is my primary realm of study, however I am comfortable assisting a student in several other areas as well, to include crafting study plans that will provide long term benefits and helping students make the leap from High School studying to College level.
