Hello, My name is Ryan and I graduated from TCU in 2006 with my Bachelor's degree in religion and a minor in journalism. I received my Master's degree in divinity from Brite Divinity School which is located on the campus of TCU. I have tutored religion at TCU for the past 5 years. I have also worked for the past 4 years with inner-city kids in Fort Worth in different capacities such as tutoring, mentoring, and last summer I taught a SAT prep course for 4 weeks with the same program. I spent the 2010-2011 school year working at a private alternative high school. While at the school, I taught several subjects (Algebra 1, Chemistry 1, Geography, Spanish 1, and English 1 which was composed of grammar and vocabulary class). Math and science are not my strongest subjects but being asked to teach these classes strengthened my ability in these subjects.

Reading

I have been tutoring student-athletes for the past six years at TCU and I have worked with inner city kids in Fort Worth tutoring as well. I have both a bachelor's degree and a master's degree so my ability to read and comprehend is extensive.

Writing

Writing is one of my biggest passions. I minored in journalism in college and as a religion major and a masters student at TCU I was required to write papers all the time.

Religion

Basketball

I have played basketball my entire life. I've worked with Upward Basketball camp. I have spent the past 2 summers working at Camp Ozark in Mt. Ida, Arkansas. Last summer, I was in charge of basketball instructional class and this summer I worked under Coach CH from Rice for 3 days and learned a variety of drills and other coaching strategies and techniques. I am the assistant varsity and head junior varsity basketball coach at Southwest Christian.

Bible Studies

I have a Bachelor's degree in Religion and a Master's degree in Divinity from TCU. I have spent the past 5 years tutoring religion at TCU. I've also worked at 2 Christian camps and at a church as an intern for 2 years.

Public Speaking

As an undergraduate student at TCU, I took a basic communication class as well as an advanced public speaking. I also took a class that required me to give a sermon. As a graduate student, I took another class that required me to give two sermons. As a teacher, I lectured regularly.

Career Development

I have previously mentored high school students from inner city Fort Worth. During my four years with the students, they had a Careers class and had workshop on weekends. I assisted with both of these.

Social Studies

I spent the past year teaching Geography at a private alternative high school. In the past, I also have tutored history. I can help you or your student succeed with this subject.
