Hello -or- Hola...as we say in Spanish. My name is Terri; although my students can call me Señora "B". I love the Spanish language and earned my Bachelor Degree in Spanish from the University of Texas at Tyler. I have traveled to Costa Rica and Mexico several times and briefly attended the University Internacional in Cuernavaca, Mexico to enhance my Spanish. I enjoy speaking, reading and writing Spanish and I have tutored my own children and 2 of my 3 children earned degrees in Spanish; my son is a Spanish teacher in Texas and one of my daughters is an ESL/Spanish teacher in Costa Rica.
I like using flash cards, games, songs, magazines, newspapers and real life experiences when teaching Spanish and have recently incorporated Blane Ray's easy readers and novels as part of my tutoring resources. I prefer working with students in grades 6-12.
Even though I live in Flint, I work in Tyler and will tutor in Tyler and the surrounding areas. I'm even open to tutoring via internet - lots of students prefer using the internet; however, this method of tutoring can be somewhat restrictive.
I hope I can help you and your student meet the challenge of learning a new language. After all, learning Spanish Is Easier Than You Think!
