My name is Neelam H. and I am a junior at University of Texas at Arlington. I moved to the United States when I was in third grade. Learning to adjust in a foreign country at that young of an age doesn't seem so hard now but it was a difficult journey in the beginning. I was thrown in an unfamiliar environment with strangers who spoke a different language that I was barely fluent in. However, with confidence and determination I learned to turn around circumstances I was uncomfortable with and turned a new leaf. Although I was very young when it was a lot easier to adjust to change, I believe wherever there is determination, motivation, confidence, and a strong will, one can achieve anything they set their mind to. I fully understand that everyone reads, writes, understands, comprehends, and learns differently. I strongly believe in individuality. I also believe that everyone is capable for excellence. There is always room for improvement, and there is always more to learn. After all, we are all students at heart until the very end.
