I am an experienced professional with a successful record of going above and beyond to help students be successful. I have had more than 10 years of experience in teaching and/or tutoring Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics of all levels from 9th grade to AP and college classes, both in the lab and classroom. I have an exceptional ability to work with parents and students to facilitate learning, growth and development. In addition to math and science I am passionate about the humanities and also tutor subjects including English, writing, history, social studies, bible studies and more. I have a strong passion for helping students succeed. Recognizing that every student is different, I study my students to see how they best learn and understand information. I then use the strategies that are most in harmony with their natural learning style to facilitate deep and meaningful learning and retention of that learning.

Volleyball

I have played, coached, and refereed in various leagues for about 8 years. I have studied the mechanics of the game, the physics of ball control, and tactics and strategies of the game. I specialize with the basics, assisting students of the game in developing greater ball control in bumping and setting and better power and positioning in spiking.

MCAT

I was a pre-med student for a while before I switched to teaching. I graduated Magna Cum Laude with a chemistry degree. I have mastery over the fields of chemistry, organic chemistry, and writing. I also have a strong background in physics (a minor in my degree). I have personally assisted a number of students preparing for the MCAT improve their scores.

Cooking

My father has taught me the art of making breads and cooking. He is a professional cook and baker, who has also worked as a pastry chef. I have developed some absolutely unique and original recipes in the Italian food genre. My specialty is in baking and Italian cuisine. I do have some propensity for Tex-Mex and other cooking styles as well.

Autism

I am certified to work with students who have Autism Spectrum Disorders, which includes autism, Aspergers, and other associated learning disabilities. I have worked with such students in an inclusion environment where the students have been in normal classrooms. Use of visual and graphic organizers, structuring spaces, and helping the students to develop clear organizational frameworks are key to helping them to adjust to a normal class situation.

Organic Chemistry

I have a bachelor's degree in Chemistry. I've gotten A's for both semesters of Organic Chemistry and scored in the 95th percentile on the ACS standardized examination in Organic Chemistry. I also was a tutor and lab assistant in college for 2 years at the University of Dallas.

TAKS

I am a certified Texas teacher in Chemistry, Physics, and Math. I have led TAKS review sessions, engaged in highly successful TAKS tutoring one on one with struggling students. At the school where I taught, we achieved some of the highest results in the state, being one of the upper tier Exemplary schools. I have also collaborated with other teachers and administrators to develop strategies to help students raise scores on the TAKS.

You can buy one of our standard 5, 10 or 15% packages or customize your own package based on how much tutoring you need. The credit you purchase can be used towards any tutor at any time and does not expire. If you do not use the entire package, we will simply deduct what you did spend on tutoring from your original purchase price and give you a refund. Discount packages start as low as $190.
