I am a mother, mentor, nurturer and educator. I love people and helping those that can not or are not able to help themselves mentally, physically and academically. I am a lover of God, who lives for serving the young and old. I am a single parent who strives to keep my only son motivated and engaged in positive things.
I recently completed my Bachelors of Arts and Science and currently work as in Instructional Aide for Duncanville school district full time and for the Visiting Nurse Association (VNA) part time in the summer. I have been employed by the district since 2004 and with the VNA since 2005, and I love what I do very much -- both are my passion!
I earned my certification in 1992 from Aims Academy (Food & Hospitality), and worked in that field until 1997 when I got married. Due to life transitions I began working in corporate America in accounting and banking as an accounts payable clerk, then was off to being a loan/collections officer for a bank for 5 years until I was laid off in 2003. This was my opportunity to seek my career goals and passion, so I started to take education classes and began subbing for various school districts from 2004 until 2007, which is when I became a full time educator and went back to earn a degree in Education.
I began homeschooling my first student and offering private tutoring in my home in 2005. Since then, I have had a diversified culture of adults and children learn and build their academic knowledge and skills under my leadership. My philosophy is, "no one is unable to learn as long as there's one willing person that's passionate about education and give them the time to do so".
