I received the Bachelor of Science Degree in English at Bishop College. I was awarded a Fellowship in the Research Training Program for Reading Specialists at Southern Methodist University through the Higher Education Act. At SMU, I was awarded a Masters degree and I am a certified Reading Specialist.
As an Assistant Professor at Bishop College, I taught reading and study skills. In addition, I taught reading at Cedar Valley College and the Dallas Public Schools. I have tutored 2nd grade and 10th grade students in the Dallas ISD.
As a result of my work with students, I have received several commendations from administrators regarding my students' exemplary test scores. All of the students I taught/tutored passed the Texas State mandated test.
I am a self published author. The title of my book is "Kip: Beloved Son, A message of Grief and Joy."
