Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Elementary (K-6th)

I have a Masters Degree in Curriculum & Teaching. I have worked as a substitute teacher for over 3 years, teaching Pre-k through 12th grade. I have worked several long term assignments in the elementary/middle school grades. One assignment was for a semester as a 3rd grade, 4th grade split special needs class. During that assignment, we focused on math, reading, phonics and handwriting.

I have substituted in nearly every subject area, with the exception of speech, in grades 1st through 6th.

I have also worked for an additional 4 years teaching information technology (career preparation skills) to youth 16-24 at Job Corps.

General Computer

I have taught basic word, excel, powerpoint and outlook operations, to my classes before. I can make sure you understand how to open, close, create files and save files in each operation. I can teach you how to send files, name and move files to various destinations and devices. I have the patience to work with nearly any student.

Microsoft Excel

I have taught basic excel operations to my students before. I can make sure you understand how to open, close, create and save files in excel. I can teach you how to send files, name and move files to various destinations and devices. I've used excel to create formulas, name ranges, sort, filter, create pivot tables, create graphs, charts, v-lookups and often figure other things as needed.
