I recently received my Ph.D. in biomedical science from Baylor University, and I am looking to supplement my income through quality tutoring services. I have extensive experience in both biology and chemistry subjects, ranging from high school biology/chemistry as well as AP courses, through undergraduate upper and lower level biology and chemistry courses. I am a tutor for subjects ranging from introductory biology to molecular biology, biochemistry, and immunology. I am now a part time adjunct professor at a local university.
I expect a lot out of my tutoring students. I am taking the time to let you take advantage of my expertise, and you are paying for the time: therefore I expect you to come prepared! Know where your problems lie and bring problems to work or specific topics to cover. You are only going to improve through study and practice. It is not my responsibility to pass a course or achieve a certain grade for you: that is your responsibility, but I am here to help you get there!
I give you the keys to help you study more efficiently and effectively for the subject we are working on, and spend a lot of time during the session explaining concepts in terms that are easier to understand and that are easier to relate to. I also like to help students understand where a concept fits in the big picture and how it will be important to them in the future.
If you choose to contact me for torturing services, you can expect a prompt reply.
Don't wait until your situation is dire! Get help when you first start to struggle! While I will certainly tutor you in an 'emergency' situations, these will do you the least amount of good and I'll essentially be helping you 'cram'. That being said, I am well versed in a variety of situations that you might fall into. I can guarantee that you'll get more than you pay for!
Fee negotiable. Will work as private tutor with weekly lessons, or as one time service. You MUST give me advance information on the topics to be covered. Will travel 10 miles for no extra fee, but may add travel fee for 20+ miles. Free most nights. Please include in your email specific areas where you need help for a faster reply.
