I am an experienced user and teacher of accounting processes and systems. I have taught Excel and Word and have an affinity for helping less-experienced users design and use these applications to meet their real-world needs. I am quick on the uptake and can help get remaining staff up to speed on systems when the "expert" leaves unexpectedly.
I have over 25 years experience in Accounting. I've been using spreadsheets since they were first released -- even before Excel. I'm experienced with QuickBooks, Monarch (Datawatch), KRONOS, Paychex, PayCycle, and other desktop and server-based applications. I also currently maintain www.glct.org, and have maintained both intra- and internet sites using FrontPage, PageBreeze, Dreamweaver and text-edited HTML.

If you need tutoring in other areas, I am also an experienced director, costumer and producer for community theatre, a sewing teacher, a long-time crochet and cross-stitcher. I am an avid digital photographer and archiver, and a voracious reader.

Microsoft Excel

Advanced Microsoft Excel user, with training experience. Focus on real-world examples. Experienced with advanced data-management functions inluding Pivot Tables.

QuickBooks

I have used QuickBooks in two different locations. I am very familiar with setting up accounts, posting amounts, creating and running reports, check processing, and data exchange/downloading to other applications.

Sewing

I have been sewing since I was a child. I made many of my own clothes in high school even before I took "Homemaking". I made my own clothes in college when I was too poor to buy ready-made. I made my own clothes in the early years of my career when professional clothing was not readily available in my size. I made clothing for my children and now my grandchild. I've made drapes, curtains, blinds, pillows, and quilts for my home. I've made costumes for period plays such as "Pride and Prejudice" (Edwardian & Victorian dresses) and "Little Women" (Civil War era dresses). I have taught basic sewing in one-on-one and in small classes.

Theatre

I started working in theatre in high school. About 10 years ago, I was elected to the Board of Directors at the Greater Lewisville Community Theatre where I have served as V.P. for Production for about 8 years. I have worked on over 30 shows as Director, Assistant Director, Stage Manager, Costumer, Props Manager, Set Designer, Set Builder, Set Decorator, and Producer.

Web Design

I have done extensive work on a large intranet site at a previous employer. In additon, I have use HTML and server rights management to transform "shared" directories into to faux intranet sites to make file/form sharing easier for users. I have used several different software applications. I don't do JAVA nor more advanced applications, but I am experienced in setting up and maintaining basic web sites.
