I am a registered nurse. I also have a Bachelor's Degree from Texas A&M University in Community Health Education. I am passionate about helping nursing students. I truly believe that many wonderful, potential nurses are lost each year because of the unfair way that some of the nursing schools try to "weed out" the weaker students. Many of these students are not weak at all; they just have not been taught the basics to build upon. I will tutor nursing students from the ground up. I wholeheartedly believe that students get caught up in memorizing information instead of trying to learn the "why's" behind the information. If students understand the concepts for which they are studying, they will not need to memorize information at all. I tutor students to comprehend the "why's" of nursing.
Another critical component involved in helping nursing students is to teach them the strategies of nursing test taking. In fact, I know that I can increase a nursing students test scores by at least 20% by teaching them these essential test taking strategies. It is amazing to see how many nursing students don't understand how to apply the nursing process not only out in the field, but also toward nursing tests. I tutor nursing students to help them pass and become wonderful, intelligent, competent nurses.
