I have more than 40 years of experience using the Spanish language; I attended Kindergarten, Elementary, Middle School, High School, and College in Monterrey (Mexico); I pursued a Bachelor of Science Degree in Public Accounting and Auditing in Mexico. Thus, most of my formal education has taken place in Spanish.
In the United States, I pursued a Bachelor of Business Administration with a major in International Business Management (in English), a minor in French, and I’ve got 12 credit hours in Spanish Language from the University of Texas in Edinburg, TX.
I earned my Spanish Teaching Certification through the Web-Centric Alternative Certification Program in Cypress, TX. Thus, I’ve got a Teaching License to teach Spanish from Early Childhood to 12 grade in the State of Texas.
I have more than three years teaching Spanish. I have been teaching Spanish at the middle and high school levels, thus, I have experience interacting with 6th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th graders.
TPR, games, and songs are the three main tools that I enjoy using to teach Spanish to kids.

My expertise credentials in the Spanish language span almost five decades.
I was born in Monterrey, Mexico where I attended kindergarten, elementary, middle school, high school and college, thus, most of my education took place in Spanish, therefore, I learned to speak the Spanish language as a native speaker.
When I moved to the United States I enrolled at the University of Texas Pan American where I pursued a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree. I majored in International Business Management with a minor in French; moreover, I took the CLEP exam for Spanish, and I’ve got the highest scores possible which granted me getting 12 undergraduate credit hours in Spanish. In other words, I’ve got credit for four undergraduate Spanish courses; moreover, I have experience learning English as Second Language and French as well.
In 2009, I enrolled in an Alternative Certification Program that prepared me to get certified in the State of Texas to teach Spanish, thus, I've got my Texas Standard Certification in LOTE Spanish EC-12 which enables me to teach kindergarten through 12th grade students.
Since August 2010 to the Present, I have been teaching Spanish at the Middle School and High School levels.
Finally, my teaching style includes a mix of technical grammar comprehension and immersion drills. I integrate a variety of techniques (visual aids, sound aids, animation, hands-on, verbal and nonverbal activities, total physical response, storytelling to ensure complete understanding of the specific concepts.
