My name is Yung-Kang (Derby). I received the Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Texas at Arlington in 2006, Master of Science in Engineering Technology at West Texas A&M University in 2001, and Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering at Chinese Culture University in 1996. Teaching has been my passion and professional goal since I was an undergraduate student. In order to gain teaching experiences with diverse groups in mechanical engineering, physics and mathematics, I started teaching and tutoring undergraduate and graduate students with engineering majors from my first year of the Ph.D. study. During my Ph.D. study, I was a graduate teaching assistant at the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, SOAR master tutor at the University Center in the courses of statics, dynamics, mechanics of materials, Matlab, Computer-Aided Drafting, all college-level mathematics and physics, and summer instructor at the Upward Bound/Upward Bound Mathematics and Science Programs in the courses of Technology Application Design (AutoCAD and other CAD software), physics and Introduction of Technology. After I graduated with the Ph.D. degree in 2006, I continued my professional career to contribute the knowledge of mechanical engineering, physics and mathematics granted from God in academic instructions. Since then, I served as Program Coordinator and Assistant Professor of Engineering at Paul Quinn College to teach courses in the subjects of Engineering Introduction, Dynamics, Circuits, Digital Instruments and Basic Statistics; and adjunct engineering professor at Grayson County College to teach courses in Statics and Dynamics. I am currently registered as the Engineer-In-Training at Texas in 2004. I sincerely hope to join the team to continue and grow my passion of education in the WyzAnt Tutoring.
