I'm a professional artist exhibiting my artwork all over the world, and have been active in the art world for seventeen years both in the United States and in the British Isles. I teach privately to students who are either trying to get their portfolio accepted into the top art schools in the country, or students who have never studied art before and need to start from the beginning. I have taught in large private schools in Dallas, as well as small private schools outside of Dallas. I come from a family of classically trained musicians and artists, and I know the art world and market very well. My specialty is sculpture and drawing, but I have a degree in painting and printmaking and have taught every art subject in every setting to ages as young as five years old all the way up to old age pensioner students.
For new students with experience I require an initial portfolio review so I can see where the student is coming from and where they intend to go visually. To build a strong portfolio for today's top art schools, certain elements must be in place, and enough time must be allowed for students to have a chance at acceptance into a program. Life drawing is essential for most art schools, which is something I can set up with excellent models and well equipped studio space, but the rates for this drawing session would be significantly higher, being that the venue rental and hiring a model adds to the cost. I'm a figurative painter, and studied it extensively in art school, and have taught in this area for many years. My references are excellent, if there's an interest in this area for a student. Otherwise, I am adaptable for all students needs, and can teach anyone to draw, paint or sculpt even if they have no previous experience.
I have a professional artist website, with link available by request.
