I am a Texas Certified teacher with certificates in English and Reading, ESL, Special Education, Social Studies and Family Consumer Science. My most recent experience has been with Juniors and Seniors in High School where my students had a 92% passing rate on the ELA TAKS test. I also worked with those students to help them pass their college entrance exams. I've been a homemaker also, and can teach children or adults to sew and cook. Being certified to teach Family Consumer Science allows me to teach a wide variety of subjects related to the home.

Phonics

I am a college graduate with a Bachelor's degree: major in English and minor in history. As part of my English course of study in college, I had to take a linguistics course, which demonstrates phonics, morphemes,etc.

Special Needs

I am certified by the State of Texas to work with students in grades EC-12. I have
Special Education classes on my college transcript, and I have worked with Special Education students for 34 years.

Public Speaking

As a high school student, I won a State of Texas award for public speaking. As part of my course of study in college, I often had to present lessons publicly. I have also taught for 8 years, and all of my students were required to present a speech each year.
