Tutoring in the Richardson area.
I had my B.S. in Mathematics and a minor in Physics at Prairie View A&M.
What's good for the goose is not always good for the gander. This is especially true of tutoring. I am methodical in my approach to tutoring. While I do have a general approach I employ, I adapt and modify it to meet the individual needs of my students.
And now for a brief word on my experience: I've worked as a GRE and GMAT instructor for Kaplan for over three years. I scored in the top 90th percentile in both verbal and math on the GRE (won't mention the score, but if you really want to know you can ask me personally). I've also worked for a private tutoring firm in College Station, tutoring both Texas A&M and Blinn College students, as well as A&M Consolidated high school students, in math, physics, statistics, and grammar. I've worked with many different types of students in a variety of subjects and have gained valuable experience from it. That experience has taught me that there's always more than one way to teach a student, and to be effective as a tutor I've had to learn to adapt and tailor my teaching strategies to accommodate the various needs of my students.
I enjoy helping students excel and I am competitive when it comes to achieving high grades in classes or top scores in standardized exams. I don't just take on any student, only those with a strong desire to succeed and a great work ethic. I am very patient and flexible with my students, though I expect a certain level of trust, responsibility and accountability from all my students.
