Greetings!
My name is Dan B. and I am a professional certified classroom teacher with excellent communication skills and tutoring abilities tailored to meet your learning needs.
I have a bachelor's degree in Communications from Hunter College, master's degree in Drama and English from University of Arkansas and a professional Teaching Certificate from LeTourneau University in Texas. In addition to my ongoing classroom experience, I served two years in Americorps as a tutor and teaching assistant for inner city schools in both Dallas and Chicago.
My tutoring skills include literature, vocabulary, grammar and composition while specializing in increased vocabulary, heightened language, creative writing, public speaking, recitation and elocution. Extensive classroom experience along with my use of specific teaching strategies has provided me the opportunity to teach a number of subjects on a variety of grade levels, including individuals who have special needs.
I employ a very interactive, "hands-on" approach to teaching involving qualitative interaction and valuable exchange to create a beneficial dialogue between student and tutor. I am also very flexible in adapting my specific methods of teaching to vary according to the subject being taught in order to fully engage the learning style of each student.
