I am a middle school math teacher with Dallas ISD, currently teaching 6th grade math. I am certified with the State of Texas to teach math for grades 4-8. I am also pursing a Master's in Post Secondary Education with a Concentration in Mathematics.
My love for math began in junior high school. I was in an advanced program in junior high and high school and fell in love with math. While I am not a math "nerd," I have always been a very logical person, so math came easy to me as I moved from grade to grade. I even took math courses in my undergraduate classes in college as an elective because I knew I would get an A in the class.
Now I am a math teacher; it is the job I love the most. I've taught middle school and high school math and have tutored in both. I have also tutored college students in lower level math classes. I enjoy seeing the light go on in a student's mind when they understand a concept that they first perceived as difficult. I believe in making real-world connections with any math topic to help students develop a better understanding of math. I also enjoy tutoring students to help them build confidence in their ability to achieve in mathematics.
I am a mother and a teacher, so I approach tutoring with the same patience that I use with my own children and the students that I teach. While I don't get a lot of free time, I do enjoy traveling when I can and, most people wouldn't believe this, but I am a fan of WWE and watch it every Monday and Friday.
