I love teaching Spanish, and I'm passionate about exploring Latin American and Spanish culture with my students. While teaching intensive Spanish language and culture classes at the University of Texas at Austin, I developed an appreciation not only for teaching the nuances of grammar and vocabulary, but for the learning process of my students as well. Standing on my feet and teaching exclusively in Spanish for two hours at a time also helped me sharpen and fine tune my skills as a master's level Spanish speaker and instructor.
Additionally, tutoring students one-on-one outside of class helped me learn common areas where students struggle, but may not feel comfortable saying so in a larger class setting. Finally, living, working, studying and traveling in Mexico, Central America, South America and Spain helped broaden my world perspective and understand how the Spanish language is used differently across different regions.
