Everyone is a teacher and everyone is a student. I struggled in school as a result of things being explained in a way I could not connect with. This experience has made me shy about my intelligence which, apparently, is pretty darn good.
I wish for children to discover this early. I wish for them to gain confidence about decoding problems and where to look for solutions.
Success for me will look like your child being excited about tests because he/she knows, that they know, that they know the subject. I have areas of strength and opportunities for growth with my own educational journey (grammar is an opportunity for me.) I will only tutor in those subjects where I have very high confidence in my ability to explain, unravel, present the information in a way a child can absorb.
Also, I welcome parents to challenge me on my teaching method. I've built a teaching model which utilized the Montessori Method, Susan Wise Bowers and Lisa VanDamme.
