I have a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from Texas A&M University in College Station. After passing the EC-6 exam, I used Texas Teachers alternative certification program to prepare for teaching elementary school.
While studying abroad in Italy, I completed a teaching based internship and taught local 4th grade students about American culture and language. I also assisted with Sunday school and Vacation Bible School at my church. Additionally, I mentored students as a HOSTS volunteer for many years. These experiences improved my understanding of what it takes to be an excellent teacher.
My professional background is based in sales and management. As a retail store manager, I provided support, training, and development to my staff. I was a coach and a mentor to the team and always looked for new opportunities to create independently successful employees. Managing my employees prepared me for managing my students in many ways.
