Hi there!
My name is Sarah, and I'm the kind of person who did NOT love school (and especially homework) when I was a student. Sorry, but it's true. I totally get how hard it can be to focus and how frustrating homework is sometimes. But I also know that education is crucial for success--both from an employment perspective and a personal/social perspective. I'll never regret going to a top college and, immediately after graduation, enrolling in a master's program. I'm a more well-rounded, successful, and happy person today because I received a quality education.
My goal is to help students of all ages change the way they approach their education. If that means we need to battle feelings of failure and low self-esteem caused by high pressure school environments and this culture's obsession with grades, then we'll do it. If it means we need to restructure a student's homework routine so assignments are completed more effectively, then we'll do it. If it means going over every single homework assignment, question by question, then we'll do it. If it means grabbing a cup of coffee, taking our work outside, and enjoying some fresh air, we'll do it.
When I'm with a student, I want to know THAT student. There's no one-size-fits-all approach to learning and development. I'm all about finding out what a particular student's struggles are and creating a tutoring relationship and program that fits that specific student's needs. Basically...I want to get to know you. I want to have fun. I want us BOTH to learn. You matter to me, and so does your education.
I'd love to meet you!
