Hi. My name is Rafael H. I graduated from the University of Dallas in 2011 with a Bachelors in Biology and a concentration in Spanish. During my undergraduate years, I tutored for three years at Keyes Elementary in math, reading, and science. My job was to prepare students for their annual TAKS exams. At first, I wanted to become a teacher. I had a passion for helping kids in their studies. But then, I found myself wanting to do a little more; so I combined my passion for science and helping others and found myself in the healthcare field.

Now, I am studying to take my MCAT, the medical school entrance exam. I will apply to medical school this year.

I love to teach and have great success at raising student grades and standardized testing scores. Of these tests includes the STAAR, ISEE, and TAKS. I am a patient and easy going tutor. I love what I do.

Chemistry

I am knowledgeable in general chemistry I and II. I am currently preparing for my MCAT, the entrance exam into medical school. The exam covers biology, physics, chemistry, and organic chemistry. I am constantly studying the material. Hence, I feel I would be great to refer to for help in the subject.

I do not tutor for P-Chem or Analytical Chemistry. These subjects cover a different area of chemistry not incorporated in General Chemistry material.

Prealgebra

I have been tutoring in math for just under 4 years. I have worked with a variety of students ranging from 1st grade to Juniors in High School. Without a doubt, math is one of my favorite subjects to teach.

My strong suits are elementary Spanish grammar, reading, and writing. My composition skills are very good.

Elementary Math

I have been tutoring in math for about 4 years. I tutored 4th and 5th grade students to prepare them for their TAKS exams. I have been tutoring students for just under a year for the ISEE.

Most of the students I have worked with have fallen behind in their studies or have trouble absorbing the material. I am very patient with students and have always found a way to help them do better in math.

Math is not easy for everyone. My job is to make it as easy as possible.

Soccer

I've played soccer for the past 10 years.

During high school, I played club soccer for a local team called Aguilas for about 5 years. We competed at Premier level for about 2 years and then competed at the Classic level for about 3 three.
