A successful test-taker is a prepared test-taker. As both a university instructor and a test prep tutor, I am devoted to helping students master the daunting process of standardized testing. I teach the very best strategies, tips and shortcuts for the SAT, GRE and GMAT. I want each of my students to have the clearest advantage on test day.
For each section of the test, I teach only proven methods for raising a score. This includes an easy-to-learn Challenger Thesaurus. The Challenger Thesaurus increases the student's vocabulary dramatically and efficiently by setting comprehensive word lists into dynamic word relationships.
For reading comprehension questions, I teach a powerful and efficient method of analysis called MAPS, which stands for Meaning, Assumption, Purpose, and Structure. MAPS analyzes a passage quickly yielding its organization and logic as well as the function of each of its parts.
Next, teaching math for standardized tests can easily become bogged down by a mass of tricks students find difficult to remember on test day. I don't do that! I keep it clean and efficient, and focus on the fundamentals of problem solving.
Lastly, to achieve a high scoring essay, I show my students how to construct a point of view on the given issue by discussing it from multiple perspectives. Presenting a point of view in an essay form becomes intuitive and fluid, and won’t have the artificial and tedious quality of the standard five paragraph essay detested by graders.
I believe that if you know your test inside and out, you'll have all the confidence you need on test day.
