I am a local artist and teacher in the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex. A graduate of the University of North Texas, I am certified to teach in the State of Texas. I have fifteen years of classroom experience, working with students at all grade levels.

Phonics

Includes instruction in eye-hand coordination; line, value, shape, and perspective; figure and still life drawing; the use of media such as pen and ink, pencil, charcoal, pastel, and brush; and personal style development.

Painting

I have ten years of experience teaching Painting at the high school level.

I provide an introduction to the essential materials and techniques of painting, which include mixing color, under-painting, glazing and washing, dry brushing, and using a palette knife.

The student will also explore the use of composition, line, contrast, texture, and color. Hands on instruction will give the student a basis for developing visual awareness and artistic self-expression.

Art History

I have ten years of experience teaching Art History at the high school level. Tutoring in Art History involves critical thinking and helps the student develop an understanding and knowledge of diverse historical and cultural contexts of
architecture, sculpture, painting and other media.
