I possess a wide variety of experiences, both educational and practical, that make me an effective tutor. I am currently working on my second master's degree, this one from the University of Dallas. My first graduate degree was completed in the spring of 2011 at Dallas Theological Seminary in Historical Theology, and my undergraduate work was completed at Cedarville University in 2006 with a B.A. in Christian Education. My tutoring strengths are writing, editing, English, reading, GRE Reading and English prep, algebra, religious history, philosophy, and logic. I have been a tutor with other agencies and have experience on a wide range of subjects.

I am comfortable working with all age groups from early elementary to college graduates preparing for graduate studies. I realize that many students do not naturally love the educational process and so my goal is to make your tutoring experience not only academically beneficial, but also enjoyable! I employ challenging inductive and deductive teaching methods, and encourage the students to practice what we learn together through repetition. In my initial meeting with each student I spend adequate time assessing your particular needs and curtail the educational experience to fit both those needs and your personality. It is my long held passion for education and learning that helps make my tutoring experience both effective and enjoyable for the student. I am driven by the challenge of engaging in the educational process and helping students and parents see the satisfaction of improved performance and grades.

Elementary (K-6th)

My undergraduate degree in education included extensive training in educational theory and practice of elementary aged children including learning styles, models of education, and the use of a variety of techniques. Included as part of my degree was a 12 credit hour internship focusing on youth education in which I spent the semester writing and preparing lesson plans, teaching on a wide range of topics, and tutoring students in one on one situations.

Football

I played football on the elementary, middle school, and high school levels. I have volunteered at several football camps to assist in coaching as well as technique development. I have a sound understanding of the game, strategy, and am capable to teaching those skills to others.

Basketball

I played basketball competitively in middle school and high school, advancing into the regional finals in both varsity years. I have attended an array of summer basketball camps not only honing my own skill, but giving me insight into how to teach and develop the skills of others. I am hard working and understand both the skills of the game and have the ability to teach those skills to others.

Bodybuilding

I have trained in weightlifting as a trainer since high school and subsequently have been a member at both the Baylor Tom Landry fitness center and Gold's Gym. I have a sound understanding of how the body works, healthy and effective weightlifting techniques and can motivate my clients to reach their fitness goals.

Bible Studies

I have a significant background in biblical and theological studies. I have an undergrad and Christian Education and a graduate degree from Dallas Theological Seminary making my a proficient scholar and more then capable to guiding others through the biblical text and its meaning. I am also fluent in the original text languages of Greek and Hebrew.

Public Speaking

My public speaking background is fairly expansive. My undergraduate education of course included basic courses in public speaking, but also required 21 credits of classes practicing developing and delivering a speech. This experience has fostered an acute acumen for how to prepare to execute a speech that connects with the audience no matter the context. Fitness

I am an active fitness participant, currently working out 6 days a week. I had professional training in high school and college and apply those skills to my workouts regularly. I love motivating others to reach their potential and am capable of doing so.
