I recently received my Ph.D. in Genetics and Development from UT Southwestern. My dissertation focused on how neural stem cells within the hippocampus are regulated during early postnatal neurogenesis. I am therefore extremely knowledgeable in the fields of neuroscience, genetics, developmental biology, cell and molecular biology, chemistry and biochemistry.

I have recently discovered my passion for teaching and mentoring students of all ages and backgrounds. I have mentored high school, college and graduate students during my tenure as a Ph.D. candidate. I have taught freshman level Biology (Biology 1406) at Richland College, however, I currently teach Microbiology. Additionally, I work as a Laboratory Teaching Assistant at SMU for both majors and non-majors biology. I look forward to utilizing my scientific expertise so that students can better understand biological systems and how they integrate into every day life.
