I am a caring teacher, who desires for her students to succeed, and will do all I can to help them succeed. I have over 30 years experience working with children ages 0 to 18, as an elementary teacher, foster parent, Children's Program Director at a shelter for battered women and their children, preschool teacher for multiply impaired preschoolers, group leader at a children's home, ESL/TOEFL teacher in Gaza, Israel, and a volunteer tutor at an adult literacy center.
I enjoy using games and a sense of humor to assist my students with learning. I am very patient, and will try many different ways to teach until I find one that works for the individual I am working with. I prefer teaching the basics (i.e. reading/phonics, elementary math, and language/grammar).
