I have an BA in Teaching English as a Second Language (ESL/ESOL) with a concentration in Spanish and Linguistics from Liberty University. Last year I graduated with an MA in Applied Linguistics, with concentrations in literacy and ethnology, from the Graduate Institute of Applied Linguistics in Dallas, TX.
My experience as an ESL teacher is quite diverse: I tutored international students at Liberty University for 3 years, and taught a listening and speaking class for one year.
I was as ESL teacher and guide for The Language Company's English Days at Walt Disney World--a full immersion English camp for students ages 8-18 from all over the world.
I was an ESL instructor at Auburn University at Montgomery and taught beginner writing and grammar, intermediate reading comprehension and advanced listening and speaking.
I have taught overseas--Guatemala, Romania, and Central Asia; and have traveled and/or lived in 14 other countries.
I love working with and learning about international peoples, languages and cultures!
Although, my most experience is in teaching English related topics, I have tutored math a fair amount as well. Math has always been one of my favorite subjects and I was placed in advanced classes from elementary through high school. Pre-algebra and algebra are my favorite and I would love to help you or your son or daughter to get a better understanding of it...maybe even learn to like it as well ;)
