Corey is EXTREMELY helpful and patient, a character trait a person must possess when tutoring Algebra. Corey took the time to explain everything and that really helped when it was time for me to take my test. I kept trying to work the problems "my way" and I kept hearing Corey's voice explaining to me the correct way to work out problems. I am taking an accelerated Algebra class and wasn't catching all of the concepts, Corey's tutoring helped A LOT. Corey has been tutoring my daughter for the past several weeks in Calculus II. She says that he is the best tutor she has ever had for several reasons. He explains the material so well that she completely understands it by the end of the session. She says that he comes completely prepared for the session according to her syllabus. She said, "I can't believe how much of his own time that he puts into this." She is so happy with him, and we both highly recommend him!

My daughter is a high school junior taking pre-calculus. Math has never been her strong suit, and pre-calculus has been very difficult for her. We tried large tutoring centers, but the instructors were not knowledgeable about pre-calculus and it was a waste of time and money. Corey knows his stuff and makes sure that my child learns it well. I struggled in statistics and at the beginning of the class did not have a tutor and was performing poorly in the class. I went to tutoring about twice a week and it certainly helped! He helped me organize my notes and keep me organized in order to improve my math. Also he created study guides for me that we would complete that were just like my assignments from my professor! I ended up getting a B in the class by a miracle! Couldn't have done it without his help. Great tutor... patient and has great and organized notes.

I enlisted Corey's help in preparing for the GRE, having not taken any math in quite some time and needing a significant level of refreshing. He was very patient with me and was great about striking a balance between getting me to ask the right questions to solve problems myself and explaining step by step where needed. He was also very good about encouraging me when I would get one right on my own or gently redirecting me when I was off track, increasing my confidence along the way.
I was only able to meet with him for three sessions due to time constraints on my part, but even in that relatively short amount of time, I felt much more prepared and confident to tackle the GRE thanks to Corey's exceptional tutoring skills. Last summer I took physics 1 and 2 back to back. I came into physics 1 with very rusty math skills. I was 25 and had not had a math class since high school. My algebra was very weak and I was having trouble keeping up with the fast pace of the summer course. After I failed the first test I decided to get some help. I went to two other tutors before meeting Corey. To be honest I was doubtful that I could even regain my footing at this point and I considered dropping the class. The turnaround I made with Corey was drastic. After 2 sessions with him I received a 79 on my next test. I went on to make high B's on my last two tests in physics 1 (far exceeding my expectations) and then made solid B's all through physics 2. I am now utilizing Corey's expertise in calculus as I am taking it for the fall semester.
Corey is very slow and methodical in his instruction which is excellent for someone like me. He has a very firm grasp on physics and many different types of mathematics. He will patiently show you each step of a problem algebraically and make sure you understand before he continues on in his instruction. The force diagrams he drew in physics along with the problems he worked were great to refer back to as examples because he has extremely neat handwriting and writes in different colors so you can differentiate between different steps. This is really beneficial when it comes to physics because you need to visualize the situation before you can even begin with the math. Corey has gone out of his way to work me into his schedule quite a few times and is usually very flexible when it comes to meeting locations. Based on my experience with Corey so far I'd say he is the last tutor you will ever need to look for when it comes to physics, algebra, or calculus.

I recently took a Junior level statistics summer school class at UT Austin and found that I needed a great deal of help. One of my friends told me about Corey so I decided to contact him and work with him at minimum once a week - best decision ever! He definitely helped me raise my grade from a B to an A in such a short amount of time. Corey tutored my daughter in Physics, a class that she was failing because she didn't understand the material. By the time we arranged for tutoring, it was less than two weeks before her final. Corey made himself available numerous times to work with her, including nearly four hours the evening before her final. He also took efforts to find out what she needed to know for her final, where her weak areas were, and formulated plans and problems for her to work on in addition to the problems she already had. He patiently explained concepts she didn't understand, focusing in on those that were the most difficult for her. She liked him very much; he has a patient and gentle demeanor, and she felt he was very supportive of her. He gave detailed feedback after each lesson, stressing her strengths and pointing out where she still needed work. I would recommend him most highly for any tutoring subject to which he is knowledgeable. If we need tutoring in a subject that he is qualified for, I would definitely use him again.

Excellent, Excellent tutor! I do not have enough words to praise Corey for his outstanding work and professionalism. This was my daughter's very first experience and it was outstanding for her. Corey was above and beyond patient. He came so very prepared that not a minute of his tutoring was wasted. Every example he provided for Kristina was explained in detail where she truly understood the material. Corey is a very well spoken person. He articulates the material well and makes it easy to understand. He is always a little early if not exactly on time. Usually when I study for a test I make myself do all of the problems my teacher assigns which is usually at least 60-80 problems per section about 7-8 sections per test. All I did with Corey is practice problems with him after he saw my homework and I made a 91 on my test! If you're looking for a tutor that is patient and is really willing to take his time and show you something over and over if you don't understand it, Corey can help!

When selecting a tutor for my daughter I was very concerned about her experience. I didn't want her to feel as if she was somehow at fault for needing help. Corey was extremely patient, and very carefully reviewed her current knowledge to understand where focus was needed. He engaged quickly with my daughter, and she was giving "thumbs up" after the first session, indicating that she already felt an improvement in her understanding. At no time did he "talk down" to her or make any negative comments regarding her skill set.
In addition, I was surprised to see Corey assigning homework, to reinforce the subjects covered during the tutoring session which ensured that the areas that they covered were understood fully, or so they could review if she was unable to complete the problem.
