I am an experienced mathematics specialist. I am here to share with you my knowledge and experience, provide top-quality instruction, and help in the best way possible with whatever ails you! My qualifications include nineteen years of experience as a teaching assistant and a substitute instructor at Austin Community College and sixteen years of experience as a private instructor. I also recently began working at El Centro College in Dallas as a mathematics, physics, and chemistry tutor. Furthermore, I graduated with a degree in applied mathematics and a 4.0 overall G.P.A. (and just earned an Associate of Science Degree with an Emphasis in Science from Richland College). Additional background academic information includes:
* Membership in the Phi Theta Kappa National Honor Society and the Who's Who Among Students in American Junior Colleges and Universities honors organization
* Straight A's in all of my mathematics and science courses (engineering calculus, business calculus, differential equations, linear algebra, general statistics, general chemistry, and general physics)
I have the ability to provide students with the most professional instruction possible and communicate classroom material effectively and efficiently. This helps students become creative and independent thinkers and succeed in their courses and careers. I have been frequently complimented on my organizational and communication skills and level of patience in working with students. Through my methodical, step-by-step explanations, detailed examples, and study aids, students comprehend mathematics more effectively. Additionally, my calm and professional demeanor and caring personality instills in students greater peace of mind and a can-do attitude. This leads to greater retention, increased self-esteem, and improved grades. I feel that I can provide students with the best possible instruction and the necessary tools and confidence to help them succeed not only in their math courses but also in other areas of study. Give me a try; allow my experience to work for you. You will be glad you did!
Special note: Post-session review guides based on subject matter covered during sessions are also offered. If you would like to have these regularly as a means of either test preparation or additional practice, then please mention so upon lesson's end.
Prior to beginning lessons, if so desired, an in-person meeting may be scheduled for students registered with WyzAnt to discuss student-teacher expectations. Moreover, you may sit in on sessions to see how they are conducted, see what my teaching style is like, and gauge your comfort-level with me as an instructor.
Regarding my cancellation policy, although I prefer one day's notice, I accept a minimum of two hours' notice of either cancellation or postponement. I allow for such exceptions as dire or unforeseen circumstances (e.g., illnesses and family emergencies). If the cancellation or postponement occurs less than two hours before lesson commencement, then one hour's session time will be billed to the client's account.
Regarding test preparation, I tutor in the GED, GRE, ACT, and SAT but only for the mathematics section of these tests.
