I love helping you succeed! I specialize in public speaking, foreign accent reduction, English as a Second Language, Spanish, and English grammar, writing, and reading. I also have fun tutoring algebra, and Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel. As a former college professor and dean, I can get you ready for college entrance tests and the writing and math skills you will need to do well in college. I have also been a corporate trainer and can help you prepare for your career from entry level interviewing skills through presentation skills to leadership training.

Can I also teach children? You bet! I taught both my children to read using a great phonics method. I use motion, rhythm, and songs to help with memorization, and beat the clock games to help get math homework done. I coached my kids through their elementary and high school years successfully, and my daughter even called home for suggestions on research sources for her college essays: "Mom, I need an introduction for my essay. Do you know a philosopher who has a theory about....?"

Phonics

I have taught public speaking/presentation skills for colleges and corporations, and even to the engineers in a local city professional development program. I have a Master's degree in Linguistics and have taught many types of communications courses at the college level for 25 years. I have also been a participating member of Toastmasters for 5 years.

Speech

I am a Compton certified foreign accent reduction coach. I have taught public speaking, presentation skills and accent reduction as well as English as a Second Language for over 25 years. I am also a member of Toastmasters.
