"Our Miracle Worker!!"

Mel from San Antonio, TX
Step aside Sylvan, Mathnasium no more, Kumon come on, we tried them all!! Sadly we NEVER experienced sustained learning, much less delight in learning math as we are seeing with Casey. My child looks forward to lessons and we are doing more than twice a week. Casey is our miracle worker, just as Helen Keller's tutor was for her, Casey is for my child. She is not just a tutor, she has been a trusted advisor in building a math program for us!! Casey has proven time and again to be a mentor and a true teacher. She finds strengths in the midst of math mayhem and disaster and my child has found more than learning math under her direction. As her mom, Casey has instructed me on how to instruct my child & we can now do some math homework together without tears, meltdowns, and major fighting. My child has found a sense of accomplishment through guidance, diligence, instruction and patient repetition. My child does not tell me, "I would rather die than do math, mom". Now she is excited to go to her tutoring sessions where all they do is math, and I am astounded. For the first time in as long as I can remember we did math @ the kitchen table, when I picked her up from school I looked at the math she had done and it was ALL correct. All I did was guide & encourage. She has learned with Casey and math is sticking- finally. ADHD seems to NOT be a player with Casey on the case. My sweet daughter is proud of herself, and sees the benefit from tutoring. I once tried to cancel a session because she was having a really bad day, and she wanted to go see Casey anyway. Math has always been her nemesis, especially with a learning disability, and she has always avoided it and hated it. Casey how you changed her mind I will never know, but the results tell it all. Her dad and I are so very thankful. Math mayhem to math made easy- I dreamed, Casey made it real.

We had our first lesson with Casey yesterday. Our daughter has always struggled with math and even last week she was in tears saying she was "stupid" because she couldn't get the problems. After our session yesterday we were walking to the car and she said to me "you know what??? I am good at math". It was what we have always hoped she would someday feel. We are so excited to have Casey to meet with weekly and know that our sessions will help tremendously.

I was extremely impressed by Casey and how she related the information to my daughter. She focused on how to make the topics interesting which motivated my daughter to learn. In only one quarter my 8 year old daughter improved three letter grades and I have never been happier. Thank you Casey for everything!!
"Tailors her tutoring perfectly to the needs of her students!"

Casey has been 'spot-on' with the tutoring of Algebra I and Writing she has been doing with two of my teens this past month. I have seen a renewed interest in learning, self-confidence and their ability to understand the concepts based on the teaching ways that Casey is using. Not only does she take an interest in their learning styles, Casey also learns about the students and their interests in order to motivate them. She is patient, reassuring and has the ability to gain the confidence of her students quickly, allowing them to relax and focus on the lesson before them. Casey, thank-you for allowing us to know you and bless us!

I have been so pleased at the rapid progress my child has made since the beginning of tutoring several months ago. My child went from total Math Phobia, to confident and matter of fact attitude towards Math. My child went from below grade level to grade level and even beyond in some areas of math. Casey S. has reached my child in ways that helped math to become real and practical in this life. I can't say enough about the success my child has achieved with the wonderful teaching of Ms. S.

Casey helped my son gain confidence in reading. She taught him how to focus his attention and he showed significant improvement in reading comprehension. Casey was great in that she adapted her teaching to his needs...but emphasized that school may be different and that he would have to make the effort to use these new skills there. We recommend Casey as a tutor and may need her services again in the future.

This summer instead of sending my Grandson, Zachary, to summer camp like years past, I decided to hire a tutor to help him with reading, spelling and math. He HATED MATH. Zachary had scored low on his TAKS test and I was worried he would never be able to catch up going into 4 grade. During the school year he was staying 1 hour 2 days a week after school for tutoring. The tutor told his Step Mother he had given up and there was no need to come back because of his attitude. Zachary had no desire or self confidence towards learning. I was so worried I would have to drag him to each lesson and never hear the end of how I ruined his summer. But to my suprize he loved going and asked for more lessons. Now he is looking forward to the new school year . Casey personlized each lesson and started with the basics. One day he was so excited after a lesson Casey had him read from a fishing magazine and do some math problems from a GED work book. He was 10 foot tall and on top of the world. He has prosressed so much and he looks forward to more challenging words and math problems. Zachary loves to play games, Casey made up games & different ways of learning and he enjoyed it so much.

Casey is excellent. She picks up on the little things with my son that I have overlooked. Just listening to him read, interacting with him, and by observing his activities she is able to better determine how to tutor him. I can't believe that I waited so long to seek a private tutor. God really blessed us with a great person.
