Students and parents, I am 24 years old, have been married for 5 years, and have a 2 year old and a 10 week old. I have a year left in college but chose to allow my husband to put his education and career in front (CPA) in order to have children while we have the energy to do so. So here I am with vast amounts of knowledge, an eagerness to learn and educate, and no outlet!
I have either been in school or nannying for the past 6 years and believe the combination of the two make me an ideal tutor. I have studies in psychology, English, and education. I have worked with children from toddlers to middle school specifically doing hands-on tutoring. I assisted in home-schooling my nieces through elementary level courses.
Each child learns differently and I pride myself on being able to adapt to different learning methods. Often, just finding out WHY a child thinks they are answering correctly and finding the errors in thinking themselves can help them begin relearning on their own. Depending on our location/method choice I will assess the students weaknesses and modes of learning to tailor my tutoring methods to your needs.
