I have been working in the Austin area as a tutor for over 20 years. I graduated from UT-Austin in 1994 with a BS in Math. I worked in the math department while there, and also began working at ACC as a tutor at that time. While there I tutored math courses from pre-algebra to differential equations, including trigonometry, probability, calculus and business calculus, linear algebra, discrete math (set theory and logic), and statistics.
Though I majored in math, I took over 40 hours in physics, chemistry, and astronomy combined, and regularly tutor those subjects as well. I made A's in classes such as Classical Dynamics, Classical Electrodynamics, and Kinematic Astronomy, but generally stick to tutoring general physics and general chemistry; that is, high school and first- and second- year college courses.
I work strictly out of our home in Cedar Park, using a dedicated room as a one-student classroom. It has a large whiteboard, a large desk for students, and other teaching aides for myself, including online access for students who may need it for their assignments.
PLEASE NOTE: 24-HOUR CANCELLATION POLICY. A cancellation fee will be charged on all same-day cancellations: 1/2 hour the first time, 3/4 hour the second time, and 1 hour thereafter. NO EXCEPTIONS. Given that I have to schedule in advance, with the high demand I have been experiencing, same-day cancellations are lost revenue and time on my end, as well as missed opportunities to work with students that need it, and perhaps procure new clientele. The assessed fees are not meant to devalue my appreciation for my current clients, nor judge the legitimacy of the reason for failure to notify me by the previous day. It is simply a risk passed on to all clients to reserve a session time.
